Our Founder
The conference was founded by Don Burdick, a passionate advocate for Irish culture and economic development. Don is also the founder of Tulsa IrishFest, a major cultural event that celebrates Celtic heritage through music, art, and community. His vision is to not only entertain and educate but also create long-term opportunities that unite Oklahoma and Ireland through both culture and commerce.
Connected Through Culture: Tulsa IrishFest
Founded on St. Patrick’s Day, 2018, Tulsa IrishFest is a family-friendly celebration of Irish and Celtic heritage, offering world-class music, cultural exhibits, authentic vendors, and community-focused experiences. From its beginnings with 8,000 attendees at Guthrie Green, to a growing two-day festival with international talent and a future-facing “Artist In Residence” program, Tulsa IrishFest has become one of the most anticipated cultural events in the region.
The Oklahoma Ireland Business Conference extends Tulsa IrishFest’s mission beyond music and culture—into the realm of economic development. Both initiatives share a unified goal: to build strong, lasting ties between Ireland and Oklahoma through meaningful experiences that educate, entertain, and empower.
Tulsa IrishFest is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, and proceeds from both events support ongoing efforts to promote Celtic culture and create a permanent cultural center in Tulsa.
